Some AWESOME news from Allie!!

Everything is going great here! I went to the doc.
on Monday and got some good news. I am in remission
and only have 2mths of chemo left yeah!!! Jeff is
still doing great and the kids are doing good and going to school which is good for me.

I got this email from her this morning. Such great news!! I guess all the prayers, positive thoughts, etc. have been working!! Thanks so much to everyone who has been involved in Jeff & Allie's recoveries. I know they still have a ways to go and will continue to need our support and friendship.

Saturday's event was a great success! We were able to raise a lot of money, gave out a lot of prizes and had a blast! I am out of town for a family situation and forgot my list of everyone who won prizes. We're also still in the process of tallying up the money as checks are still coming in the mail and online donations are still being made.

So, as soon as I am back in town later this week, I'll get updates and pictures posted for everyone to see!

Listen Up!

Hey! We'll be on the radio Friday morning to talk about the fundraiser event! B-98 FM has been gracious enough to invite us in for an interview. So, make you sure you're listening at 9:35 am and hopefully we'll reach a bunch more people!

WOW!

So far we've had over 300 hits to this site and the response from our community has been absolutely amazing. So many businesses have stepped up with donations, the media has been generous with air-time and website space. And I've gotten emails from old friends as well as complete strangers offering help, donations, and prayers.

I can't thank everyone enough for what you are doing to help the Hoskins Family. And I hope that you all understand just how much it means to them, as well as the friends and family who are organizing this in their behalf.

Jeff and Allison are two of the sweetest people you could hope to meet and I know in my heart that if I were in their shoes, they'd jump right on board to help me out. They have never asked for help and are humbly and graciously accepting what we are trying to do for their family. The money we are able to raise will help with the mounting medical expenses from not one, but two bouts of cancer in the last year. But more than that, it will buy some peace of mind. It will buy two less-stressed parents for Preston, Parker & Bailey. It will help to take care of some of the everyday things so that Jeff and Allison can concentrate on resting, healing and becoming the strong, vibrant, fun-loving, wonderful people they have always been.

I personally have been very humbled and amazed at what our community will do to help it's own. I've seen it before but have never been so closely connected to it. I have gotten a few emails from people praising me for my role in this. I want everyone to know that although I have updated the blog and been the contact person for a lot of the media, I am not alone in this venture. Joni Berblinger, Jessica Rajtar, Jamie Pearson & Misti Stephen have been working their tails off behind the scenes. They're doing the "real work"!! And YOU!! The people checking the website, sending the emails, calling the radio stations for info, buying door prize tickets, making plans to join us Saturday...you guys are making this happen! Me, I'm just some chick who figured out how to make a blog! :)

We have the most wonderful friends and family, and they are the ones that are helping us get through this tough time in our lives. About the Hoskins...

Jeff Hoskins and Allison (Martin) met in 1995 while attending Goddard High School. I remember the day Allie approached Jeff’s sister Joy and said, ‘Your brother is so cute’. From that day on, Allie only had eyes for Jeff and we girls schemed with her to convince then, shy guy, Jeff to take her out on a date. Jeff planned an amazing evening for Allison on their first date (you remember that first big High School date!) and they have been together ever since. They were married right after high school and now, 12 years later they have an amazing family. Preston, Parker and Bailey are beautiful children with all of Jeff and Allison’s wonderful qualities – they are kind, considerate, creative, outgoing and so resilient!
In the summer of 2006, Jeff was diagnosed with Leukemia and underwent Chemotherapy for several months. He entered remission in January of 2007 and is still rebuilding his health. Allison was diagnosed in June of this year with stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Jeff and Allison retain their resilient, positive outlook on life and are an inspiration to all they encounter! They need our thoughts, prayers and support to make it through this difficult time and that’s why we created this website!
